In my Socrates class, I have read, written overviews, critiqued, and listened to lectures on the following dialogues: Euthyphro, Symposium, Apology, Republic, and Phaedo.
I marvel at the artistry of Plato. I also wonder who I was able to get to understand better this quarter. Do I now have a better understanding of Plato? Or of Socrates? I remember that we read about Socrates from his dear student Plato. It may be time to dive into Xenophon's account of the great philosopher. Xenophon reported and did not necessarily immortalize Socrates from the eyes of adoration and artistry.
Besides, in a number of the dialogues, Plato seems to be missing. In Phaedo, he was ill (59B).
My favorite line of the quarter is one from Apology (20D) that I shared with Stephen and Greg: "Tell us the explanation, if you do not want us to invent it for ourselves."
So much to learn; so much to dig into.
